Testogel® is a prescription-only testosterone gel used in testosterone replacement therapy for men with confirmed testosterone deficiency.

It contains testosterone in gel form, which is absorbed through the skin to help restore testosterone levels to the normal physiological range when prescribed appropriately. Testogel is applied once daily and is designed to provide steady testosterone delivery rather than sudden peaks.

As with all testosterone treatments, Testogel is not suitable for everyone and is only prescribed following a full clinical assessment — including blood testing, review of symptoms, and evaluation of safety markers.

When Testogel may be prescribed

Testogel may be prescribed when all of the following apply:

  • Persistent symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency
  • Blood tests showing low or borderline testosterone on appropriate testing
  • Additional hormone and safety markers have been reviewed
  • A clinician has assessed risks, benefits, and alternatives
  • Informed consent has been obtained

Many men with low testosterone levels do not require TRT. A low result alone does not determine whether treatment is appropriate.

Testogel delivers testosterone through the skin into the bloodstream.

Once absorbed, testosterone supports normal male physiological functions such as:

  • Sexual function
  • Energy levels
  • Mood regulation
  • Muscle maintenance

Daily application helps maintain stable testosterone levels within the normal physiological range. Treatment aims to replace testosterone — not enhance or exceed natural levels.

When prescribed, Testogel is typically:

  • Applied once daily, usually in the morning
  • Applied to clean, dry skin on the shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen
  • Supplied in pre-measured sachets

After application:

  • Allow the gel to dry fully before dressing
  • Wash hands thoroughly after use
  • Avoid skin contact with others at the application site until washed

Dose adjustments are only made following blood test review and clinician assessment.

Testosterone replacement therapy requires regular monitoring. This typically includes:

Like all medicines, Testogel can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
Possible side effects include
